How Quote Requests Work

There are two ways you may receive quote requests on CiaoWed.
Couples and wedding planners can contact vendors directly, and they can also ask us to suggest additional professionals for them.

Direct request sent to the vendor

When wedding planners or couples arrive on CiaoWed, they start searching by browsing the profiles of vendors available in the region of their event. They choose the professionals they wish to contact, often saving several profiles to their favorites.
When they click the button to request a free quote, the request is sent directly to you.
You can recognize this type of request thanks to a note at the bottom of the form:

Even if a client contacted you directly, this doesn’t necessarily mean you are the only vendor they are considering. As they explore the site, they can add multiple profiles to their list of favorites (by clicking the heart icon or the dedicated button).

Even if you are not included in their favorites, the client may still plan to contact other vendors.
They may also choose to have CiaoWed send their request to additional similar professionals (see below).
Keep this in mind and try to respond as quickly as possible.

Requests sent by CiaoWed

These secondary requests are sent to you automatically by CiaoWed and are distributed to other vendors when couples explicitly ask for additional suggestions.
When a potential client contacts a vendor directly, they are asked whether they would like to receive quotes from other similar vendors on CiaoWed.

The default setting is “up to 5 more vendors (recommended)”.
Other options include “up to 10 more vendors” and “None, thank you”.
Regardless of the default, the user is free to change the selection.

How quote requests are distributed

When couples choose to send their request to multiple vendors simultaneously, CiaoWed uses an algorithm that selects professionals based on several factors and criteria to find the most relevant matches.
